Bryan Nelson (born September 14, 1958) is a Florida-based Republican politician who has served as Mayor of Apopka since 2018. He previously represented the 31st District in the Florida House of Representatives starting in 2012 and served on the Orange County Commission for District 2 from 2014 until his mayoral election. Born in Orlando, Nelson earned a degree in ornamental horticulture from the University of Florida in 1979, worked in his family’s business, Nelson’s Florida Roses, and later founded Nelson Insurance Services in 1995. He began his public service on the Orange County Planning and Zoning Commission in 2002 and became its chairman in 2006.
